Controversial YouTube, TikTok, and Twitch star Andrew Tate continues to face legal troubles in the country of Romania, with matters taking a turn for the worse. Romanian authorities have recently broadened and upgraded the human trafficking charges levied against the TikTok content creator, stating the change constitutes a much more "serious" crime.For those not caught up with the ongoing saga, Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested back in December 2022 on charges of multiple counts of human trafficking. There, prosecutors informed the brothers that the investigation was being broadened in order to address the more severe allegations of human trafficking "in continued form" as opposed to separate instances of trafficking. In addition to making the change, with DIICOT considers more a "serious" crime, another trafficking victim has been added to the case, meaning the Tate brothers are now facing the allegations of over half a dozen women.If convicted, the Tate brothers could face prison sentences up to 10 years for adult trafficking under Romanian Law. Both Andrew and Tristan have denied all allegations of human trafficking, rape, and sexual exploitation, with Andrew tweeting the investigation restructuring benefits him "massively," believing there to be a complete lack of evidence.
