Among Us has plenty of tasks that crew members need to complete before being killed off by the impostors roaming the map. These tasks all vary from common, to short, to long tasks. One short task that some newer players struggle with is the unlocking manifolds task.

This task can be available to crew members on every map available in Among Us. It can be found in the Reactor room on the Skeld map and the Mira HQ map. On the Polus map it can be found in the Specimen Room.

As unlocking the manifolds is considered to be a short task, it won't take a long time to complete once players understand how it works. However, some players overthink it, causing it to take too long to complete and raise suspicion among other team members.

Among Us Unlocking the Manifolds

When opening up the manifolds in order to complete the task, players are presented with a number pad with 10 numbers on it that can be seen above. The numbers on this pad range from 1 to 10.

In order to complete the task, players need to press the numbered buttons in numerical order, going from 1 all the way to 10. The pattern that the buttons are in may change on each playthrough, but the order of what numbers need to be pressed will never change.

This task is not considered a common task so not all crew members will have this task like with fixing wires or swiping cards. However, this task will have crew members completing it in a very isolated position making them easily picked off by impostors if they take too long.

For impostors, there are two vents connected to the reactor on the Skeld Map that can be used for a quick getaway. There is however only one vent available in the Mira HQ map's reactor. Meanwhile on Polus there are no vents/cracks that the impostor can travel through in the Specimen Room.

Due to how little time this task normally takes, unlocking the manifolds isn't recommended as a primary task to fake as the impostor. The short time often makes it not worth it with it additionally not likely being seen by crew members.

While Among Us 2 has been announced, it is not known if this method of unlocking the manifolds will remain in the game. This however represents the current method that crew member players in the original Among Us must follow in order to complete this task quickly and efficiently.
