Few games have left as big an impression in the last couple of years as Among Us. InnerSloth’s 2018 social deduction game entered the public eye at just the right time to skyrocket in popularity, giving people a chaotic but fun way to interact in a time of social distancing. Naturally by this point, Among Us has begun to expand beyond the game itself, and now it’s been revealed that fans will be able to experience crewmate and impostor antics in manga form.Video games are a popular source to tap into for Japanese comic adaptations. Recent years alone have seen plenty of new manga series based on games. These have included new installments in long-running adaptations of franchises like Pokemon and The Legend of Zelda as well as adaptations of newer titles like Persona 5 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.RELATED: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Manga Will Be Releasing Its Final ChapterAmong Us will be joining that list soon, according to Manga Mogura RE on Twitter, who reports that a manga adaptation will appear in the next issue of Japanese magazine Bessatsu CoroCoro on February 4. This will make it the latest video game to receive the manga treatment for the magazine, which has published comics based on Mario, Animal Crossing, Sonic the Hedgehog, and more.

Beside the premiere date, the only other piece of info Manga Mogura provides is that the manga will be will be a one-shot story instead of an ongoing series. Beyond that, one can make a few educated guesses about what it will be about. Bessatsu CoroCoro is marketed mainly towards elementary school-aged kids, so odds are the manga will skew towards the more lighthearted side of the game, focusing more on the comedic antics and misunderstandings that crewmates and impostors can get up to outside of all the cartoon murdering.

There’s also the question of whether it will be available outside Japan. There is some precedent for that, as Bessatsu CoroCoro’s Splatoon manga eventually received an English release. Add to that Among Us’ popularity around the world and it’s a very real possibility that the manga will see release in other regions.

Even if it doesn’t, fans still have plenty to look forward to now and in the near future. This week saw the release of Among Us: Crewmate Edition, the first of three physical versions of the game that will be available within the next couple of months. Not only that, there’s also the upcoming release of Among Us VR, which will let players complete tasks, weed out impostors, and hunt down crewmates in a whole new way.

Among Us is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
