Last week, one lucky Among Us fan discovered a Chicken McNugget in their McDonald's meal with a shape eerily similar to one of the game's classic crewmates. Since the McNugget was listed on eBay, the bidding has continued non-stop, and the Among Us Chicken McNugget now sits at a bid price of over $50,000.

The story behind the McNugget is that it was found as part of a promotional meal McDonald's is running with the K-pop band, BTS. Originally listed for only $0.99, the Among Us Chicken McNugget quickly passed $1,000 and has since accrued 156 bids to hit $50,900 at the time of writing. For another bidder to top this bid, they will have to commit to at least $100 more. The idea that a Chicken McNugget could ever reach a price this high seemed impossible before, but it looks like someone will be walking away with what may be the most expensive McNugget ever.

The Among Us Chicken McNugget's eBay listing is strangely well-timed, as this past weekend saw a huge resurgence in interest for the social deduction game partially due to its inclusion as a free game on the Epic Games Store. At the time of writing the number of watchers for the listing has climbed through the 600's and is approaching nearly 700 people. Whichever bidder manages to secure the McNugget will need to pay the $50,000+ asking price along with $4.20 for standard shipping. The bidding war is scheduled to end on June 4 at 2:06 a.m.

Those curious what condition the miraculous McNugget is in can take a look at the pictures the seller has provided. Although it might be difficult to determine what "mint condition" is for a perishable food item, there are at least no bites taken out of it. On top of the McNugget sealed in a plastic bag, the bid winner may also walk away with something like 20 containers of McDonald's Szechuan sauce. This McNugget from a BTS meal marks yet another McDonald's promotional deal that has caused bidding wars on eBay this year, the first being McDonald's Pokemon Card promotion.

One big question to ponder about this McNugget is how long it will last, but the eventual buyer probably won't have to worry too much. It's fairly well-documented that McDonald's and other fast food restaurants have menu items that can stay good for absurd amounts of time. In the famous 2004 documentary Super Size Me, McDonald's fries stayed in near perfect condition after 10 weeks inside a glass container. A story from last year found on the Eat This, Not That! website claims one man still keeps a McDonald's hamburger he bought in 1999, which means the burger is as old as the original Silent Hill.

Among Us is on Mobile, PC, and Switch. PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S versions in development.
