For the vast majority of Amnesia: the Bunker, players are basically alone in the bunker with the monster. However, there are a couple of other living humans down in the tunnels with Henri; one of these people is a German POW, currently tied up in a prison cell in Prison section of the map.
This man is the only one still living in the prison block, and players can choose to either allow him to die at the hands of the monster or attempt to save him. In order to get all the achievements or trophies in Amnesia the Bunker, Henri will need to keep this poor man alive.
Finding the German Prisoner in the Bunker
In order to find the POW, Henri will first need to unlock Delisle's locker with the dog tag locker code in Amnesia: the Bunker. This will give players the emergency valve needed to open the crank and get inside maintenance, the prison block, and past the officer's bunks. The dog tag can only be found in Delisle's room, located in the officer's quarters hall next to the lounge.
After that, players can open the door to the prison, then head inside. The prison cells will be at the very back of the prison block, and there will be a total of eight cells. When Henri enters this area, the German will be in the third cell to his right. It's hard to miss him; he spends most of his time yelling in German. As anyone who is a fan of this genre of game, they know that noise is definitely the enemy, and this guy just won't be quiet. So how can players save him?
Saving the German Prisoner in Amnesia: the Bunker
Saving the German POW is fairly tricky; players will need to be careful and fast. First, open up the Warden's Office of the prison block with the wrench. Head inside and unlock the door, grab one of the 16 collectible photos in Amnesia: the Bunker, and then be prepared to open the prisoner's cell. These steps will need to be completed pretty quickly, so be sure to be ready.
- Open the prisoner's cell.
- Shoot the monster through the Warden's Office window when he appears to chase him away from the screaming German prisoner.
- Get inside the cell and grab the bolt cutters needed to finish Amnesia: the Bunker.
- Run back inside the Warden's Office and close the cell door again before the monster returns.
- Keep in mind that the monster will be very upset that he can't kill the German, and he will keep coming after Henri if players succeed in saving him.
