Launching back in 2010, Amnesia: The Dark Descent was once known as an iconic pillar of the YouTube scene, launching the careers of some of the platform's most notable stars. Amnesia's innovative approach to stripping the player of any power and forcing them to hide as monsters stalked them through dark passages became a winning formula for YouTube success, with the likes of Markiplier gaining thousands of subs by posting their reactions to it.

Of course, few names managed to grow from the game quite like PewDiePie, who became a staple of the YouTube scene due to his over the top reactions to the popular horror classic. Ten years later, Felix Kjellberg clearly still has a deep love for the Amnesia series, with the YouTuber recently posting an almost hour-long gameplay video from the newly released Amnesia: Rebirth.

Titled "It's Been 10 Years," the video quickly sees the YouTuber get stuck back into the style of gameplay that made his original videos on The Dark Descent so popular. A lot of time may have passed and the YouTuber's style of comedy has changed significantly, however, fans seem pretty nostalgic to see PewDiePie navigating the series' dark corridors and avoiding terrifying monstrosities all over again. Ten years filled with horror games clearly haven't provided Kjellberg with an iron will though, with the YouTuber admitting from the offset that he's pretty creeped out by the game's eerie sound design and ominously dark caves.

Fans of the YouTuber will be treated to a full-blown nostalgia trip over the coming days, with PewDiePie announcing at the tail-end of the video that this was merely the first part of a new series playing the game. It's sure to bring a whole host of memorable moments for fans of his original Dark Descent series, as well as those who have been enjoying the YouTuber's recent gaming content. As of last May, the content creator signed an exclusive streaming deal with YouTube, going on to play through titles like The Last of Us 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and God of War.

As for Amnesia: Rebirth, the game is currently experiencing excellent reviews, with the general consensus leaning towards the favorable. It seems most fans are excited to see the iconic horror property return to screens, especially with the original developer being the series, Frictional Games, returning to helm the sequel. With Halloween just around the corner, Amnesia: Rebirth is already delivering a creepy experience that's perfect for horror-enthusiasts looking to close out the spookiest time of the year with something suitably chilling.

Amnesia: Rebirth is available for PC and PS4.
