As part of Amazon's latest round of early Black Friday deals, Bethesda and Arkane Lyon's time-looping first-person shooter Deathloop is available at a significant discount for a limited time. Thanks to Deathloop's intriguing assortment of features, gamers looking for a unique experience should have plenty of fun on the island of Blackreef.

Deathloop is the latest title from Arkane Lyon, a well-regarded studio known for its immersive and innovative first-person games like Dishonored. In fact, it has even been revealed that Deathloop takes place in Dishonored's universe, so fans of Dishonored may be interested in the game on that basis alone. The game takes place on the island of Blackreef where players take on the role of Colt, an amnesiac gunslinger tasked with eliminating eight targets on the island while reliving the same day repeatedly Groundhog Day-style. Currently, Deathloop Standard Edition is available for $34.99 or 42% off on PS5, $23.61 or 61% off on PC, and $37.03 or 38% off on the Xbox Series X. Notably, the Deluxe Edition is only on sale for PC, at $22.29 or a whopping 72% off.

The game also has an opt-in PVP aspect where players can invade other players' games as Julianna, a free-roaming hunter with a variety of abilities that can add an element of unpredictability to each loop. Thankfully, this feature is optional and players have the choice to disable the invasion feature if they wish. As the player relives the day, they gather information on their targets, learn their schedules and uncover paths and knowledge to be used in future loops. Similar to rogue-like games, players earn currency through each loop that can be spent on abilities that enhance future runs.
