Version-exclusive Pokemon have been a feature throughout the many generations of the main series of Pokemon games. This has forced trainers to trade with their friends to fully complete their Pokedex, which has become increasingly difficult due to there being a ton of different species in Pokemon Sword & Shield.
With the Isle of Armor DLC came the return of some fan-favorite species, like Heracross, as well as the adorable Skrelp and uniquely-typed and Dragalge--but these 3 only appear in the Pokemon Shield version of The Isle of Armor. If players need to give their team a Bug-type boost or increase their Poison-type power, they should consider seeking out these pocket monsters.
Where To Find Heracross In The Isle Of Armor DLC
This Bug and Fighting-type Pokemon from Generation 2 can be a great choice to add some muscle to one's team. This species can be found in 3 locations on The Isle of Armor.
How To Find Heracross In The Training Lowlands
There is a 5% chance in any weather condition to find a Heracross as a visible encounter in tall grass. Individuals found this way will be between level 10 and level 15.
In the large open field by a pond and the beach, trainers can spot a level 28 Heracross in a wandering encounter--but only during harsh sunlight.
One more wandering level 28 Heracross can be found, though, this one is located close to a clearing near to a den. This individual can appear both during harsh sunlight and on a clear day.
How To Find Heracross On The Challenge Road
At the top of the second staircase, trainers can come across a wandering level 26 Heracross if the harsh sunlight weather condition is active.
How To Find Heracross In The Forest Of Focus
While approaching the border with the Soothing Wetlands area, players can locate a wandering level 26 Heracross in harsh sunlight.
Northwest of this location's central pond, players can spot another wandering level 26 Heracross close to a berry tree. Once more, they can only be found during harsh sunlight.
West, across the second bridge of this area, trainers have the potential to find an additional wandering level 26 Heracross if the sunlight is harsh. Not too far from this spot, a bit north of the second bridge, a final wandering level 26 Heracross can be found in similar conditions.
Where To Find Skrelp & Dragalge In The Isle Of Armor DLC
Skrelp, the Poison and Water-type Pokemon evolves into the Poison and Dragon-type Dragalge--the latter of which has a very rare type combination. They were both introduced in Generation 6 and are much-loved for their interesting designs.
The Way To Find Skrelp & Dragalge
Both are found in all of the same areas as each other in the Isle of Armor DLC during any weather condition, albeit at different encounter rates. Skrelp will always appear at a 5% chance and Dragalge at a 1% chance while the player is surfing on the water's surface. Furthermore, both Pokemon will be between level 40 and level 45 when encountered this way. Here are the 4 water areas that players can find Skrelp and Dragalge in the Isle of Armor expansion:
- The Workout Sea
- The Stepping-Stone Sea
- The Insular Sea
- The Honeycalm Sea (Honeycalm Island)
