Despite being in early access, Gray Zone Warfare attracted the attention of a lot of players. The game invites you to explore the secrets of the vast expanses of Lamang Island in PvEvP and PvE modes. But first, you will need to choose one of several Factions. Therefore, in this guide, we will tell you about all the Factions and their differences in Gray Zone Warfare.

There are three Factions in the game with unique backgrounds and goals. Choosing between them can be quite difficult for new players.

Gray Zone Warfare: All Factions, Explained

Gray Zone Warfare map

The three Factions in Gray Zone Warfare are Lamang Recovery Initiative, Mithras Security Systems, and Crimson Shield International. You are asked to choose one of them at the beginning of the game, but the impact of this choice can be a little disappointing.

All that the choice of Faction in Gray Zone Warfare affects is the location of your base, as well as the color of your camo. You will not be able to team up with players of other Factions. When it comes to weapons and quests, they are no different from each other. Therefore, we recommend you choose the Faction that your other friends play for. Alternatively, choose the one whose backstory you like best.

Lamang Recovery Initiative

This Faction was created for combat operations in Lamang. It is supported by a tech billionaire, and conducts philanthropic activities on the island. Their main goal is to accompany “rescue and clean-up teams” and protect survivors against other Factions.

Mithras Security Systems

Mithras Security Systems can be called a PMC. Soldiers are accepted into it based only on combat experience, not their past or motivation. Its structure is based on the Roman Legion system, in which each of the soldiers receives their share of trophies for missions.

Crimson Shield International

This Faction became famous in the Syrian civil war. They have one of the highest mission success rates, mainly due to their rather questionable methods. Their priority is victory at all costs.

Gray Zone Warfare character

At the time of release, players could not change Factions. Fortunately, developers changed this. Now, you can change Faction in Gray Zone Warfare whenever you want by wiping your character.

This option is located on the main screen, in the lower-right corner. Deete your current Gray Zone Warfare character and all your progress, after which you can create a new one and choose your Faction accordingly. This way, even if you and your friends are on different bases, you can fix this quite quickly. This is easiest in the early stages, when you have not yet achieved that much progress.
