God of War studio Sony Santa Monica has recently hired a new junior writer, and it is none other than video game personality Alanah Pearce. Alanah recently joined the studio to work on an undisclosed project, meaning she could very well have a role to play in the development of the God of War sequel.

Not much official information has been shared about God of War Ragnarok, but its setting and some heavy teases at the end of the previous God of War game give some idea of what it could be about. With a Loki role to play around with, a massive clash with Thor teased, and the end times of Norse Mythology set to be covered, the game will clearly be massive when it arrives. Alanah Pearce may very well be providing an assist with the massive game as she starts off on her new career.

With the sequel to God of War possibly getting a quiet delay, Alanah would certainly have time to make an impact on its story. It could easily be a brand new project, however, and have no major connection to the God of War franchise. Alanah also clarifies that she is a junior writer, and as such is likely just working on a few smaller scenes as opposed to the major story beats. Still, it is nice to see the gaming personality so thrilled about her new career.

In the tweets announcing the news, Alanah shares how proud she is to be working with the “incredible team” at Sony Santa Monica. With high expectations for the studio’s games, especially the God of War series, Alanah securing a writing job with the team is seriously impressive. The junior writer shared her that she is honored to have a hand “in the absolutely incredible medium that is video games,” and she began trending on Twitter following the news.

This new position as a video game writer is a bit different from Alanah’s previous work. Starting a YouTube channel that slowly climbed in popularity, Alanah was eventually hired by IGN. Later on, she began to work at Rooster Teeth, where she balanced her job and personal YouTube channel before recently leaving the company. People should now have a better idea as to why she left, as the new job referenced during her Rooster Teeth departure video has finally been revealed.

With Cyberpunk 2077 giving Alanah Pearce a cameo role as well, the YouTuber has made quite the name for herself over recent years. Hopefully Alanah’s latest venture works out for her, as she seems excited about the job and her passion for the gaming industry is clear.

God of War Ragnarok is in development for the PlayStation 5.
