Coffee Thermoses can be found in every episode of Alan Wake Remastered. The Oh Deer Diner branded collectibles don't provide any extra content, but discovering 25 of them will pop the 'Damn Good Cup of Coffee' Trophy/Achievement, and after all 100 are found, 'Hypercaffeinated' will also unlock.

Unlike the Manuscript Pages in Episode 1 of Alan Wake Remastered, there aren't any additional thermoses to find in Nightmare difficulty. They can all be found while playing on Easy or Normal. There are 14 Coffee Thermos locations in Episode 1, and this guide will detail where to find all of them.

Although the images were captured in the updated version of the game, the same locations apply to both the original and the remastered versions of Alan Wake.

All Collectible Coffee Thermoses in Episode 1 of Alan Wake Remastered

Coffee Thermos 1

Alan Wake Remastered Episode 1 dream sequence prologue with circled collectible

The first Coffee Thermos in Alan Wake Remastered is located by the closed-off bridge in the tutorial Dream Sequence at the beginning of the game. Just walk forward and follow the main road until the bridge is reached, and players will spot the collectible by the edge.

Coffee Thermos 2

Alan Wake Remastered collectible circled in dream sequence prologue

Continue on the path to the lighthouse until Alan acquires the Flare Gun. Turn right before jumping down to enter a small bunker. The thermos is on a wooden box at the back of the building. This is easily missable, but can be obtained quickly by loading up the sequence again from the Alan Wake Remastered Episodes menu from the title screen, or just starting a new game.

Coffee Thermos 3

Alan Wake Remastered circled collectible outside the lighthouse during dream sequence tutorial

After being chased over the bridge by a tornado, look to the bench in the right-hand corner, before entering the lighthouse. The 3rd Coffee Thermos is on top of the bench.

Coffee Thermos 4

Alan Wake Remastered circled collectible oh deer diner

In the Oh Deer Diner after the ferry ride with Alice, players can find a Coffee Thermos on a table to the left of Cynthia Weaver, under the neon diner sign. This is one of the earliest locations that players can really see the visual upgrades in Alan Wake Remastered compared to the original.

Coffee Thermos 5

Alan Wake Remastered circled collectible at bird leg cabin cliffside

At Bird Leg Cabin, turn immediately around instead of crossing the bridge when players have control of Alan. Go all the way up the cliffside until Alan and Alice's car can be seen. The Coffee Thermos is to the left of the car, overlooking the cabin on a wooden platform.

Coffee Thermos 6

Alan Wake Remastered circled collectible in bird leg cabin

Enter Bird Leg Cabin, take a left, and go past the stairs and into the kitchen. The collectible is on the counter beside a coffee maker.

Coffee Thermos 7

Alan Wake Remastered circled collectible at lumber yard

After seeing Stucky as a Taken for the first time in a cutscene, head to the right, towards the objective. However, before leaving this small area with the wood stacked in blocks, turn left (where the manuscript page is sitting if players haven't collected it already) and go to the car. The thermos is on the ground beside it.

Coffee Thermos 8

Alan Wake Remastered circled collectible at stream near lumber yard

Cross the first log above the stream and then turn left. Keep walking in this direction until the end of the isle is reached and then turn around. The thermos is on the left-hand side, on top of a large rock.

Coffee Thermos 9

Alan Wake Remastered circled collectible lumber yard by broken stairs

Cross the stream and then turn right. Alan will get the objective to reach the path above the broken stairs. Go between the two large piles of wood, just past the staircase, and turn right. The 9th thermos can then be seen on top of a large rock.

Coffee Thermos 10

Alan Wake Remastered circled collectible in woods near gas station

After reaching the path above the broken stairs, follow the objective up the hill. Head down and Alan will remark that the Gas Station is close. Turn right here to face the rocky area by the edge. The thermos is hiding behind a small rock, to the left.

Coffee Thermos 11

Alan Wake Remastered circled collectible in woods near gas station and safe haven

While traveling through the woods, players will come across a Safe Haven where they can heal in Alan Wake Remastered. Just past it to the far northeast is a large rocky cliffside where enemies will constantly respawn. The Coffee Thermos is near the edge here, past a barrel.

Coffee Thermos 12

Alan Wake Remastered circled collectible in lumberyard after stucky fight

Follow the main path after the Stucky fight, and players will see the collectible on top of the wheels of a yellow crane. Players can backtrack to the control room by the previously locked fence if they want to collect a TV show location. It will play an episode of the fictional Night Springs, which is a reference that connects Alan Wake with Control.

Coffee Thermos 13

Alan Wake Remastered circled collectible outside of gas station

This thermos is located by the pricing signs, opposite the gas station. Go past the Deerfest truck, and players will see the collectible under the left-hand sign. A few of the cars here have been changed to generic fictional makes, as Alan Wake Remastered had to remove product placements seen in the original due to expired licenses.

Coffee Thermos 14

Alan Wake Remastered circled collectible near gas station

The last Coffee Thermos in Episode 1 of Alan Wake Remastered is found on the main road beside the Gas Station. Before entering the station, turn left on the main road and head all the way to the end. The collectible is on the ground by the front of the truck blocking the entrance to the tunnel. There will be a lot of enemies who spawn here, but using the quick reload in Alan Wake Remastered can help clear the encounter faster.

That's every Coffee Thermos location in Episode 1, but there are more to get in in Episode 2 on the way to Lovers' Peak in Alan Wake Remastered, and other locations.

Alan Wake Remastered is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
