The Rental Cabins are found in the northeast quadrant of Alan Wake 2's Cauldron Lake map, and they are home to a Cult Stash. Specifically, that container is in the southernmost cabin's bathroom, and there is a drawing attached to its top. That drawing points toward the key that is used to open the Rental Cabins Cult Stash in Alan Wake 2, and this guide is here to help players locate that item.

Alan Wake 2: Rental Cabins Cult Stash Key & Container Locations

Players that are hoping to open the Rental Cabins Cult Stash must set their sights on obtaining the Lake Cabins Stash Key, which can be found at the base of a tree at the north end of the area. The precise position of this tree has been marked on the map that is below, and Alan Wake fans can reach it by following these steps:

  1. Travel north from the cabin with the Cult Stash and enter Cabin #3 (the second cabin on the right).
  2. Exit the cabin through the east door, continue northward, and crouch under the tree.
  3. Walk through the cabin on the left and keep sending Alan Wake 2's Saga Anderson northward to pass by a pickup truck.
  4. Turn on the flashlight and look to left to find a tree with a yellow "2" painted on it.
  5. Collect the Lake Cabins Stash Key from the ground near the base of that tree.

With the Lake Cabins Stash Key in hand, players are free to return to the Rental Cabins Cult Stash and collect the assortment of consumable items that are inside it. Notably, fans that open this stash will also be one step closer to earning Alan Wake 2's Watery Lighthouse Key, which can be used to obtain some additional supplies and Manuscript Pages. Indeed, players must open every Cult Stash in the game in order to collect that key, and the container at the Rental Cabins is no exception.

One final thing to mention is that there is a Nursery Rhyme puzzle in Rental Cabin #4 (directly next to the cabin that is passed through in Step 4 of the previously-provided instructions), and players may want to address it while they are in the area. For those fans that are curious, the reward for solving that puzzle is a Coffee Mug Charm, which saves Saga from dying once when equipped. This is not the only reason to complete the puzzle, though, as players must solve every Nursery Rhyme in Alan Wake 2 in order to obtain the Father Doll.
