Alan Wake 2 has proven to be a big success, and fans craving similar games should take note of the upcoming Alone in the Dark title.

Alan Wake 2's Night Springs DLC

What Alan Wake 2's Night Springs DLC Could Be

Night Springs in the story of Alan Wake is a Twilight Zone-inspired TV series, which Alan penned scripts for before becoming a bestselling author. It was featured in the original and the spin-off Alan Wake's American Nightmare, which was framed around an episode of Night Springs that Alan was trapped in. As a big part of Alan Wake's world, the first DLC utilizing it provides some clues for its direction.

Players encounter Sheriff Tim Breaker in Alan Wake 2 in the Dark Place, where he seems to be stuck between realities in a Night Springs-like situation. Tim can even be heard humming the show's theme, which could point to him being a prominent part of it, maybe as a main or dual protagonist. It's also possible Night Springs will connect to Quantum Break in some way, since Tim resembles Jack Joyce from it.

Alan Wake 2's The Lake House DLC

What Alan Wake 2's The Lake House DLC Could Be

Control's AWE DLC was the expansion that officially introduced the Remedy Connected Universe, linking it to Alan Wake. With the appearance of the Federal Bureau of Control in Alan Wake 2, it's likely the connection will be strengthened in this DLC. The Lake House was an FBC outpost, set up to monitor events in Bright Falls. However, by the time of AW2, it was abandoned, implying it experienced a mysterious and unfortunate occurrence.

Perhaps players will see the history of the FBC's presence, learn what happened to the house, or even restore it to working condition. FBC Agent Kiran Estevez is a good candidate for The Lake House's protagonist, as she assisted in the main campaign. The Lake House may flesh out her character and lead more directly into Control 2.

Predicting Alan Wake 2's Night Springs and Lake House DLC Release Dates

Night Springs, appropriately, has a "Spring" window, while The Lake House is currently listed as "coming later." Looking at Remedy's time frame for Control, this might be narrowed down a bit:

  1. Control-- August 27, 2019
  2. The Foundation DLC-- March 26, 2020
  3. AWE DLC-- August 27, 2020

If it follows this pattern, then Alan Wake 2's Night Springs DLC could release in late March 2024, andThe Lake House DLC would possibly release on October 27, 2024, one year to the date of Alan Wake 2, like Control. Though this is purely speculation, it seems like a reasonable roadmap, spacing out content throughout the year and ending with a celebration of Alan Wake 2's launch.
