  • A reliable source claims that Ahsoka season 2 is a go, despite no official announcement from Lucasfilm or Disney.
  • Ahsoka season 2 is likely to happen considering the success of the series and the potential for a continuation of the storyline involving Thrawn.
  • The ongoing actors' strike and the possibility of Ahsoka's storyline continuing in The Mandalorian movie may be reasons for the lack of official updates on season 2.

Ahsoka season 2 has to receive the official greenlight from Lucasfilm. However, a reliable scooper claims the fan-favorite Star Wars series will return.

Ahsoka season 1 concluded with its titular hero stranded in a different galaxy with Sabine Wren. Complicating matters was the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who managed to escape the distant galaxy and return to the primary Star Wars setting, intent on rebuilding the Galactic Empire. While fans are excited to see how these events unfold, Ahsoka season 2 hasn't been ordered at Lucasfilm, at least not publically.

Star Wars Outlaws Release Date Could Be Later Than Expected

The latest fiscal report for Ubisoft may bode ill for Star Wars Outlaws, as it implies that its release date may come later than fans were hoping for.

According to reputable scooper MyTimeToShineHello, Ahsoka season 2 is "a go." As of mid-day on October 29, this news remains unverified by Lucasfilm or Disney. However, MyTimeToShineHello has a solid track record or has at least garnered a reputation for being a more reliable source than others. Of course, fans should always take rumors with a grain of salt until official channels confirm the news. Nonetheless, fans are likely excited to see Ahsoka season 2 continue following the heroes who will fight against Thrawn.

It wouldn't be surprising if Ahsoka season 2 received the green light from Disney. While Ewan McGregor is confident Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2 will happen, that show and The Book of Boba Fett are among the few Disney Plus original Star Wars series without a follow-up season. In Obi-Wan Kenobi's case, this may be because the series was initially conceived as a feature film before being redeveloped as a Disney Plus. On the other hand, The Book of Boba Fett may have fallen victim to less-than-stellar reviews.

The ongoing actors' strike is another likely reason there isn't an official update on Ahsoka season 2. Unless the Ahsoka cast reached a deal to return for more Star Wars projects before the strike started, the actors cannot begin signing on for season 2 until the labor dispute is settled.

Of course, perhaps Disney and Lucasfilm plan to continue Ahsoka's storyline in Dave Filoni's upcoming The Mandalorian movie. The developing project was touted as a culmination of the storylines in the Star Wars shows for Disney Plus, so a showdown between the fan-favorite heroes and Thrawn would be fitting for the anticipated movie.
