It has been a while since we heard news for either Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition or Battletoads. The former did have two closed beta sessions earlier in the year, while word on Battletoads has been virtually nonexistent since the game's announcement at last year's E3.

However, it has been discovered that both games were rated in Australia yesterday, courtesy of Gematsu. The ratings themselves aren't particularly surprising, with both Age of Empires 3 and Battletoads receiving PG ratings overall for containing mild violence.

Battletoads' listing also states that the game features crude humor and coarse language, but that sounds perfectly in line with the series.

While neither of these listings mention a release date, it does have some suspecting that they are close to release. At the beginning of the month, Battletoadsappeared on the Brazilian ratings board, followed by Age of Empires 3 roughly a week later.

The two games may not necessarily release soon, but another popular theory is that they'll feature at this week's Xbox Games Showcase, as both games are being published by Microsoft.

So far, Microsoft hasn't confirmed many games that will definitely be appearing at the showcase, with the exception of Halo Infinite, where we will be seeing the first in-game footage. Other guesses for what will feature include the likes of a new Forza Horizon, Hellblade 2, and Psychonauts 2.

There have been rumors of a new Fable game being in the works and two insiders have suggested that it will be revealed at the event, but it's important to take that information with a pinch of salt.

As for Age of Empires fans, while a re-release of the third game will likely go down well, there has still been very little info regarding the previously announced Age of Empires 4. That game was first announced in 2017 but fans have heard next-to-nothing about it since, to the point where some seem to worry if the game is even still coming out.

It has been rumored that will release next year in 2021. If that's the case, there is a slight chance that it will appear at the showcase too.

Battletoads will release on PC and Xbox One. Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition will release on PC.
