The AEW TV show is set to begin this October, and if the company is able to keep its momentum going, it seems as though it will become genuine competition for WWE. One of the ways AEW will be competing with WWE and expanding its brand in the future will be through a video game, as Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks has confirmed that an AEW video game is in the works.

Further details on the AEW video game are unavailable at this time, and it's unclear just how far along the game is in development. It's possible that the AEW video game doesn't even have a studio working on it yet. Maybe AEW is in talks to sell its license to a company, or maybe talks haven't even started. It's unlikely that the AEW video game will be properly revealed before the show even starts to air in October, so fans will likely have to wait until 2020 or later to find out more.
An AEW video game makes sense for a number of reasons. For one, professional wrestling and video games have been tied together for decades, with new professional wrestling games releasing virtually every single year since the 1980s. Secondly, AEW is a company full of video game fans, and it even held its Fyter Fest event at the CEO fighting game tournament.
As to which game development studio could end up working on the AEW video game, that remains to be seen. One possibility that springs to mind is Yuke's, since Yuke's is no longer making the WWE 2K games.
Meanwhile, video game fans who watch the entirety of the new Being the Elite episode may be amused at singing segment by Cody Rhodes. In acknowledgment of AEW hosting one of its upcoming TV episodes in West Virginia, Cody sings "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver, which was used heavily during the promotion of Bethesda's Fallout 76.
