The next episode of AEW Dynamite will be sponsored by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's recently released Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name focuses on Kazuma Kiryu, now taking up the name of "Joryu," working as a special agent after the events of Yakuza 6. Like a Dragon Gaiden reviews have praised its emotional story and return to traditional arcade action combat.

It's no secret that the developers of Like a Dragon are huge fans of professional wrestling. Likewise, AEW's Kenny Omega is a huge fan of the Like a Dragon series. This love for wrestling and Sega's franchise eventually culminated in Kenny Omega's appearance in Like a Dragon Ishin as a trooper card. This time, Omega will be bringing the streets of Like a Dragon to the real world, thanks to Sega and RGG Studio partnering with AEW for a special match.

What is a Like a Dragon Gaiden Street Fight?

The Like a Dragon Street Fight will take place on the next episode of AEW Dynamite, airing November 15 on TBS. In a Like a Dragon Gaiden Street Fight, there are no disqualifications and falls count anywhere. Considering that fights in Like a Dragon usually have Kiryu picking up random objects like trash cans, bicycles, and other common items littered on the street, AEW might have those lying around for the participants to use. The match will feature Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, Kota Ibushi, and Paul Wight teaming up against The Don Callis Family stable of wrestlers.

This isn't the first time that AEW partnered with a video game to sponsor a special match. This past August, AEW had a Texas Chain Saw Massacre Death Match between Jeff Hardy and Jeff Jarrett, promoting Gun Interactive's asymmetrical multiplayer horror game.

Wrestlers have made cameos in the Like a Dragon franchise before, and so there's already an established link between wrestling and Like a Dragon. Many are hyped to see Sega and AEW partner up again, and it will be interesting to see what goes down during the match.
