AEW star and current tag team champion Kenny Omega has never been shy about his love of the video game industry. Omega's finishing move is actually named after Final Fantasy 7 villain Sephiroth, and he has even come to the ring dressed as Sans from Undertale. Omega still plays new games regularly, and in a recent interview, he revealed some of his favorite games that have come out in 2020 so far.

In an interview with ComicBook, current AEW tag team champion Kenny Omega stated that Final Fantasy 7 Remake is his top game of 2020 so far. Since Omega's finishing move is called One-Winged Angel, that shouldn't come as a big surprise to anyone. Omega went on to say that Final Fantasy 7 Remake is "one of the all time greatest" RPG video games. "It's so incredible," he said.

Omega also stated that he enjoyed the Resident Evil 3 remake and addressed the complaints that many had about RE3 remake being too short. "I don't need padding. I don't need meaningless missions or meaningless goals or backtracking to just eat up time," Omega said. Omega praised Resident Evil 3 remake's Nemesis, the game's battle system, and more.

While Final Fantasy 7 Remake and the Resident Evil 3 remake may be Omega's top games of 2020 so far, he has also liked Call of Duty: Warzone, Nioh 2, and the popular beat 'em up revival Streets of Rage 4. Needless to say, Omega makes an effort to play a wide variety of games, and it will be interesting to see if any future titles that have yet to launch in 2020 manage to steal the top spot from FF7 Remake.

As far as older games go, Omega has praised the original Final Fantasy 7, as well as Undertale, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time, and Mega Man 2. He's also spoken highly about Mother 3 in the past, stating that he cries every time he plays it.

Considering how much Omega and other AEW executives like Cody Rhodes enjoy video games, fan expectations are high when it comes to what the AEW video game will deliver. It's been teased that the AEW video game will play similarly to classic professional wrestling games like WWF No Mercy, but more concrete details have yet to be revealed. Video game development takes time, so fans should be patient when it comes to AEW video game news.
