Ever since the wrestling promotion was founded, it has ambitiously tried to compete with established companies like WWE and TNA. With the new Stadium Stampede mode, AEW Fight Forever has taken a bold step in one-upping WWE’s popular video game franchise, as well as other wrestling video games. AEW Fight Forever is the franchise’s PC and console game, and while WWE’s recent video games have focused on simulation-style gameplay, AEW decided to take the arcade wrestling route, something WWE has tried and tested with its previous generation video games.

Gamers who have enjoyed popular game modes like “Backstage Brawl” and “Falls Count Anywhere” are enjoying the Stadium Stampede mode in AEW Fight Forever. They can also play as former WWE stars who feature in AEW, including legends like The Hardy Boys, Christian, CM Punk, Chris Jericho, and several others. Stadium Stampede is modeled after the match of the same name at AEW: Double or Nothing 2020, a five-on-five battle that saw wrestlers go at each other in the EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville. However, the game mode has a 30-man free-for-all instead of a five-on-five match, making it all the more interesting and chaotic.

A Reddit user by the name of CartierFramez posted a video in the AEWFightForever subreddit, showing that gamers have a myriad of weapons, tools, and much more to use against their opponents in Stadium Stampede mode in AEW Fight Forever. The safe area keeps tightening every second, and three wrestlers are fighting each other, with a snow shovel, a golf club, and other lit-up tools at their disposal. To secure a win or eliminate another wrestler, players have to hit other wrestlers until their health bar depletes, ultimately hitting them with some of the best finishers in AEW Fight Forever.

Another Reddit post by GuitarJesse shows a wrestler driving a golf cart around the stadium and running it through a pile of cash, a couple of power-ups, and eventually into three wrestlers. It’s truly amazing, and equally hilarious, to see how gamers are maximizing their creativity and hitting at each other with everything they’ve got in the Stadium Stampede match. Notwithstanding the gameplay issues most gamers are facing while playing the game, Stadium Stampede seems to be a really cool idea, and can be a game-changer for AEW Fight Forever, possibly paving the way for future titles.

AEW FIght Forever is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
