AEW Fight Forever has just released a new batch of DLC, which adds a brand-new game mode centered around beating The Elite. After a nearly three-year-long wait and multiple delays, THQ Nordic and former WWE video game developer Yuke’s launched All-Elite Wrestling’s answer to WWE 2K23 back in June in the form of AEW Fight Forever, a classic-style squared circle simulator that aimed to recapture the arcade feel of games like WWF No Mercy. Reactions to Fight Forever have been mixed after its release, with many praising its gameplay while decrying its rough presentation and lack of alternate gameplay modes.

Nonetheless, the developers behind AEW Fight Forever remain committed to All-Elite Wrestling’s first major video game, with AEW executive vice president and in-ring performer Kenny Omega promising to look into player feedback and add new content to Fight Forever like new match types and possibly even playable wrestlers from Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. The first major Fight Forever expansion came in August with Stadium Stampede, an online battle royale that allows up to 30 players to fight it out in an empty baseball stadium filled with weapons to bash opponents with.

5 Classic Match Types Still Missing From AEW Fight Forever

AEW Fight Forever may have weapons and storylines, but fans are looking for a number of classic wrestling matches still missing.

The next major AEW Fight Forever DLC is now available for all major platforms, as announced in a recent trailer on the official AEW Games YouTube channel. The biggest piece of new AEW Fight Forever content is an additional mode called “Beat The Elite,” in which the player must face 10 randomly selected wrestlers in a gauntlet that ends in a match against a member of The Elite. Winning all 10 matches will unlock special cosmetic items based on the difficulty the player selected for their run.

Beat The Elite is only one part of the content available in AEW Fight Forever’s Season 2 DLC pass, which also adds Anthony Bowens and Max Caster of the popular stable The Acclaimed as playable characters and an updated AEW Dynamite arena alongside a host of new wrestling moves and cosmetic items for players to outfit their custom grapplers with. Toni Storm will be added as a third new character eventually, and all of the Season 2 DLC is included in the recently released AEW Fight Forever: Bring The Boom edition.

While AEW Fight Forever featured some promising ideas with its retro-style arcade gameplay and branching “Road to Elite” campaign mode, many players felt the base game left much to be desired in terms of variety and customization options, which AEW Games is looking to remedy with its ongoing wave of Fight Forever DLC. Only time will tell if AEW will continue to produce console games in the wake of AEW Fight Forever’s lukewarm reception, but fans can now face off against The Elite in the game’s newest single-player game mode.
