  • AEW star Cash Wheeler, one half of the World Tag Team Champions, has been arrested in Orange County, Florida for aggravated assault with a firearm.
  • Wheeler's arrest stems from an alleged road rage incident where he allegedly flashed a gun, but no physicality was mentioned.
  • AEW is closely monitoring the situation and Wheeler is cooperating with local authorities, but it's uncertain if and how this incident will affect the upcoming AEW All In event and FTR's match against The Young Bucks.

All Elite Wrestling star Daniel Wheeler, better known by his ring name Cash Wheeler, has been arrested in Orange County, Florida. Wheeler is currently one half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions alongside longtime partner Dax Harwood. The team is scheduled to defend their AEW World Tag Team Championship at the massive All In pay-per-view event in Wembley Stadium on Sunday, August 27.

Wheeler has had an incredibly successful pro wrestling career so far. Wheeler and his partner Harwood first rose to fame in WWE as The Revival, a throwback tag team rooted in old-school wrestling tradition. The Revival were multi-time tag team champions in WWE across all three of the company's brands, but ultimately decided to jump ship to AEW in 2020 with the new name FTR.

FTR has found similar success in AEW, winning the AEW World Tag Team Championship twice and serving as the current champions. It's unclear what will happen with the AEW World Tag Team Championship in the wake of Wheeler's arrest. Wheeler is being accused of aggravated assault with a firearm and has been charged with a felony. In a video of the arraignment, it was explained that the charge was a result of an alleged road rage incident, with Wheeler accused of flashing a handgun. The incident reportedly took place on July 27, with Wheeler pleading not guilty on August 3. AEW is aware of the situation and "closely monitoring" it, according to a statement it released to Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp.

All In on August 27 is set to be the biggest AEW show in history, with FTR vs. The Young Bucks promoted as one of the biggest matches on the card. It's possible that this situation could potentially prevent Wheeler from traveling to the UK, which would obviously put the FTR vs. Young Bucks match in jeopardy. For now, the match is still on, and FTR remain the AEW World Tag Team Champions. It's unclear if the incident will be addressed on-air at all during the upcoming episodes of AEW Rampage and AEW Collision that are planned for Friday and Saturday, respectively.

This isn't the first time that an AEW star has found themselves in legal trouble. Last year, Jeff Hardy was arrested for a DUI and pulled off TV for quite some time as a result. Hardy made his return to AEW in April.
