Devolver Digital is known for bringing out some seriously high-paced and entertaining action games. Previously, the publisher has published games like Hotline Miami, My Friend Pedro, and Katana Zero, all of which focus on fast gameplay where dying is never too much of a problem thanks to an almost instant respawn mechanic. Since the release of these popular titles, Devolver Digital has become known for publishing unique and interesting games for indie fans and wider audiences, recently having shown off five new games at its Devolver Digital Showcase during Summer Game Fest.

One of the new games coming soon from Devolver Digital is Anger Foot, a game that encapsulates itself mostly in the title. The player takes on the role of an individual who appears to love kicking more than most, as the trailer begins with the protagonist kicking down three doors. It isn't just doors that the player can kick down in Anger Foot, as throughout the trailer everything from Lovecraftian tentacles to bipedal crocodiles wearing varsity jackets can be seeing facing the wrath of the player's foot.

Anger Foot is being published by Devolver Digital and developed by Free Lives, the company behind the fast-paced action game Broforce and the gory VR title GORN. It is clear to see GORN's influence in the Anger Foot trailer, as the player is given a first-person perspective, similar to the viewpoint given in VR. The combat looks much more advanced than GORN's gladiatorial style, however, because Anger Foot allows for some gory gunplay mixed in with its super-kicking abilities.

Gamers on social media have been comparing Anger Foot to other Devolver games like the aforementioned Hotline Miami and My Friend Pedro, stating that Anger Foot emulates the style of those games while giving players a much more personal, first-person look on the action compared to the top-down and side-scrolling perspectives of the other titles. Hopefully Anger Foot can match the success of games like My Friend Pedro, which had its own TV series announced in 2020.

As stated, Anger Foot was but one of five new games given announcements and trailers by Devolver Digital at the publisher's recent showcase. Alongside Devolver Digital's announcements, there was some other major gaming news shared during the Summer Game Fest stream, including some more info on the PS5 and PC remake of The Last of Us: Part 1, as well as a new trailer for the XCOM-like Marvel's Midnight Suns.

Anger Foot releases in 2023 on PC.
