Croatian development team Pine Studio announces The Academy: The First Riddle, a magical puzzle game that releases this month. While there are several popular Harry Potter mobile games, The Academy: The First Riddle could give fans a larger adventure to enjoy.
Pine Studio has confirmed that puzzle game The Academy: The First Riddle will be released on PC, iOS, and Android devices on June 19. The game follows three students at a "school filled with mystery" as they go all over the school's grounds and solve more than 200 puzzles and riddles. It's unlikely to be one of the longer games to beat in 2020, but The Academy will feature six different sections to walk through.
It's difficult to get away from comparisons to Harry Potter and Professor Layton. The Academy: The First Riddle's main characters and these are a boy with black hair, a ginger boy, and a bookish girl who don't completely look like Harry, Ron, and Hermione, but they could be cousins. The game's variety of puzzles will likely be enjoyed by anyone who has played a Professor Layton game.
Being like another series, or two, is no bad thing. The game Metal: Hellsinger, which was just announced, is like DOOM and Rock Band but seems to do a good job of bringing those two types of gameplay together. That's also what players could see from The Academy: The First Riddle.
