Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Sciropescire arc has a recommended power level of 130 and major implications for the game's ending. This region-worth of quests begins with War Weary at Ravensthorpe's Alliance Map. Once players speak with Randvi and pledge their support for this region of England, they open up the quest.

This quest reintroduces a few characters from earlier in Assassin's Creed Valhalla as well as a few new ones. For those looking to begin this arc and complete War Weary, this guide is here to help.

Where to Begin the War Weary Quest?

With the quest begun, players need to track down Ceolbert, son of the King of Mercia Ceolwulf. He can be found inside the Longhouse in the village of Quatford. This small location is along the Afron Hafren river and to the northwest of Tonnastadir. Inside the Longhouse, players should approach Ceolbert and Ivarr to trigger the first cutscene.

This conversation doesn't include any choices that impact the overarching narrative of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and it drops players into the next phase of the quest. Players need to mount their horse and follow Ceolbert as he makes his way to the east and the church. Interacting with the church's door will begin the next quest.

Who to Give the Bribe to in the War Weary Quest?

After a tense cutscene, players have to decide which character they need to bribe in order to avoid a war. There are several different characters players can talk to during this portion of the quest and a few different options for bribing.

Here are the different choices in this quest in Assassin's Creed Valhalla and their impact:

  • Bribe Lady Angharad: While she will try and calm things down, this bribe will not lead to peace. She will eventually give players a brooch later on, but it isn't worth the same amount of silver.
  • Bribe Ynyr the Advisor: Players will lose their investment and eventually fight and kill this character only to find the silver gone.
  • Bribe Gwriad: Rhodri's brother will promise to dethrone Rhodri but will eventually die. Players should be able to pick the silver back up from his body.
  • Bribe Ivarr: Another unsuccessful attempt to keep the peace as Ivarr has the exact opposite on his mind.
  • Keep the bribe: While this doesn't push anyone closer to peace, it does line add to a player's own funds.

Unfortunately, none of these options lead to peace, and speaking with Bishop Deorlaf will set off the next cutscene. This will see Ivarr (one of the sons of the legendary Viking Ragnar Lothbrok) kill Gwriad and drop players into open conflict within the church.

How to Clear Quatford in Assassin's Creed Valhalla?

Inside the church are a half dozen enemies, including a pair of challenging Yeomen. Fortunately, Ivarr and Ceolbert will assist in this fight, but this does not conclude the quest. Instead, players need to open the church's door and clear the area surrounding the church of enemies as well.

Outside there are over a dozen enemies surrounding the church but a handful of allies to assist players. Once this area is clear, players need to work their way down to the river and continue the fight. With that conflict concluded and dozens of enemies killed, players then need to return to the church and speak with Bishop Deorlaf to complete War Weary.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
