As the Oxenefordscire questline in Assassin's Creed Valhalla begins to heat up, players will find themselves taking on Fiery Ambush. This is a quest that involves a few conversation options as well as a unique ambush opportunity. Along the way, Assassin's Creed Valhalla players will have to meet up with Fulke and even fight alongside her.
Fortunately, there are no major storyline decisions within the quest, but Fiery Ambush can go sideways pretty quickly if players make the wrong choices. For those players looking to complete this quest, this guide is here to help.
How to Start Fiery Ambush?
Fiery Ambush begins at the named location Eatun Barn which is south of Leah Villa Garrison and in the southwestern portion of this region in England. In order to begin this quest, players need to track down Fulke who is located in front of the easternmost structure. Approaching her activates a cutscene that presents the player with a few options.
This conversation can go one of three ways: players can spend their silver to bribe the local and avoid a fight, they can initiate a fight, or use their charisma and scare the local away. Fortunately, players will only have needed to complete a few Flyting quests in order to be able to use this charisma option. If players decide to fight their way to a solution they need to defeat three enemies, one of which is a challenging Thickskull.
How to Ambush the Reinforcements?
The cutscene drops players into a short period of time before reinforcements will show up to claim the supplies at Eatun Barn. During this short break from the action, players should focus on gathering as many oil jars as possible and placing them along the road and on the western side of the tree. With a handful of jars placed and reinforcements on the way, the best position players can find to launch the ambush is on the southern cliff.
From the overhanging tree, players can watch the enemy troops walk up the road and over to the tree. When enough have gotten within range, fire any of Assassin's Creed Valhalla's arrows to ignite the explosives and launch the ambush. Players then need to finish off whatever enemies remain in order to complete this quest. Much of the road is covered in flammable hay and players do need to watch out for accidently setting themselves ablaze. With the fight complete, players need to speak with Fulke (who is on the southern cliff) in order to complete this quest.
