Mysterious Shards are collectibles in Assassin's Creed Mirage that play an important role in accessing some unique pieces of gear. That is not made clear straightaway, though, and some players may be confused about how to get Mysterious Shards and what to do with them once they have been claimed. AC Mirage: How to Get Mysterious Shards
While it is technically possible to start collecting Mysterious Shards as soon as Basim reaches the Wilderness, it is recommended that players make further story progress before they attempt to track down these collectibles. More specifically, fans are advised to work through the My Old Home story quest, as completing that mission will cause Mysterious Shards to begin appearing on the map and navigation bar. That makes it significantly easier to find the collectibles, and players will unlock the quest after dispatching their first Order member.
Once My Old Home has been addressed, the player should simply keep an eye on their navigation bar as they traverse the various territories in Assassin's Creed Mirage. These fans will eventually see the Mysterious Shard symbol (depicted below) appear on that bar, and they should eliminate the elite Order member that it marks to claim the collectible. Notably, there are two of these Mysterious Shard-granting Order members in each of the game's five territories, and players should use the in-game collectible lists to keep track of where their remaining targets are located.
AC Mirage: How to Use Mysterious Shards
While players should now have a solid understanding of how to get Mysterious Shards, they may still be confused about their purpose. Quite simply, these collectibles are used to open three item chambers that are situated within the northern Wilderness. To reach these chambers, Assassin's Creed Mirage players will need to use a Secret Entrance in the waters of the Northern Oasis, and the following maps and images will assist with that endeavor.
With respect to the items that are found within the Northern Oasis chambers, they are the Samsaama Dagger, Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar Sword, and Milad’s Outfit. For full clarity, the unlocking of these items costs two, three, and five Mysterious Shards respectively, which means that players that want them all will need to claim every Mysterious Shard in the game. That is not an extremely difficult thing to do, though, as the relatively small size of AC Mirage's map means that all the Shards can be claimed quite quickly.
