Assassin's Creed: Mirage has taken an old-school approach to the series, taking gamers back to when the protagonists played and felt like assassins throughout history. Putting players in the shoes of Basim, the mentor and teacher of Valhalla's Eivor, players get to experience the Brotherhood before they establish their name as the Assassin's Creed.

As a result, players get to utilize stealthier mechanics like blending in and eavesdropping on conversations to obtain information from guards and other NPCs in Assassin's Creed: Mirage. Specific missions require the player to remain hidden and listen to significant conversations to acquire treasures, documents, and more.

Assassin's Creed: Mirage is a shorter game than its predecessors, but there's still plenty of content; so here is how long it takes to beat.

How To Eavesdrop In Assassin's Creed: Mirage

AC Mirage - Basim highlighting eavesdrop targets

Several quests will require Basim to eavesdrop on conversations to move the story forward and obtain crucial items or gain intel on a target. The Follow Nur's Lead mission tasks Basim with infiltrating an enemy outpost and listening to conversations. However, some players are having trouble initiating the eavesdropping mechanic. To successfully eavesdrop without getting detected, use the following steps:

  • Basim must be hidden or blended in to observe a conversation.
  • Players may find it easier to use the eagle to uncover and mark targets from above.
  • Unlike enemy NPCs that glow in red, they will glow orange.
  • Without the eagle vision, they will have a speaker mark above their heads.
  • Players must find a way to blend in and stay out of sight.
AC Mirage - Basim hiding in hay and eavesdropping
  • In the Follow Nur's Lead mission, players must hide in a stack of hay and click the R3 on the PlayStation or R-stick on the Xbox.
  • The conversation will begin, and Basim will acquire helpful information to be used in a mission or find valuable items in AC Mirage in side quests.
  • Basim can also blend in using a bench, hiding booth, and flowerbeds near - but out of sight of - the target NPCs.
  • Accidentally leaving the haystack or the blending-in area will reveal Basim's location or end the conversation; however, players can exit the listening area, return, and get another opportunity to eavesdrop.

There are several opportunities to listen in on conversations that always lead to something interesting in Assassin's Creed: Mirage. Players should explore and use Basim's eagle and utilize his Eagle Vision mechanics as much as possible to find said opportunities.

Assassin's Creed: Mirage is available now for the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
