Given the beauty of a lot of anime food, it's not surprising that many anime characters come equipped with bottomless voids for stomachs to fill with all of the delicious-looking dishes in front of them. Big appetites and anime characters go hand in hand, with many showing they can put away staggering amounts of food.

8 Allen Walker (D.Gray-man)

Allen Walker from the anime D.Gray-man.

D.Gray-man revolves around Allen Walker and the rest of the Black Exorcists, wielders of sentient magical items that aid them with offensive and supportive abilities against the primary antagonist the Millennium Earl, Noah's Family and demons in a holy war, each side racing to find the one item that will turn the tides in their favor. Infected with a parasitic Innocence in his left arm, Allen's body is a weapon against the Akuma, and as such, he burns quite a lot of energy when fighting.

Because he burns through so much energy, Allen's appetite is significantly higher than that of the other exorcists, which several of them do comment on when they witness Allen's impressive eating prowess. Though his favorite food is the traditional Japanese dumpling skewers mitarashi dango, Allen can often be seen surrounded by various dishes.

7 Goku (Dragon Ball Z)

Being an alien from another planet, there are many strange qualities about Goku, such as his tail, inhuman strength, speed, abilities that seem magical, his ability to fuse with others, and his impressive metabolism.

But in the world of Dragon Ball, this monstrous appetite is not unique to Goku alone. In fact, all the Saiyans can pack away enough food to feed a whole family and still not be full. Their superhuman bodies need large amounts of calories to function, so even on a normal day, Goku demonstrates a superhuman appetite to match.

This Hayao Miyazaki masterpiece follows the story of young Chihiro, or Sen as she is referred to later, as she works in a bathhouse for supernatural beings in order to free herself and her parents from the spirit world. On the way to their new house, the family stumbles upon what seems like an abandoned theme park, coming across a food stall that still seems in business, boasting large dishes full of mouth-watering dishes.

5 Gluttony (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Fullmetal Alchemist Homunculus Gluttony

The seven Homunculi, which are the manifested sins of the enigmatic entity known as Father, are the most dangerous enemies in Fullmetal Alchemist. They prove to be difficult foes for the alchemists as they carry out their Father's bidding. As expected, each of the Homunculi embodies one of the seven deadly sins, acting and looking as one might expect.

As such, Gluttony is a character with an insatiable appetite. Unlike other anime characters, however, his tastes are a little different. Rather than just wanting to eat tasty meals, Gluttony has a taste for flesh and blood, wanting to devour poor, helpless victims.

4 Choji Akimichi (Naruto)

While the titular Naruto himself exhibits a deep love for ramen and is very rarely seen without a bowl in hand, his appetite pales in comparison to Choji Akimichi, a ninja whose special skillset is in the gastrointestinal region. He has a deep love for all the tasty food in the world.

Even when he was a child, Choji often got into trouble for eating in class, and it was often what was at the forefront of his mind. And when not thinking about food, he is chowing down on a tasty meal, or several, showing that he could eat the ramen-loving Naruto under the table, and still have room for more.

3 Kagura (Gintama)Kagura in Gintama, a chip in her mouth, and one in each hand.

The wacky and wonderful Ginatama is an anime that is home to many interesting and unique characters, including the main character Gintoki and the wonderfully unhinged and hilarious Kagura. Despite her spoiled attitude, she was raised in a financially humble homestead and then lived in the even more humble house of Gintoki, but this didn't stop her from demanding more above their needs.

The one thing Kagura does indulge in excess is food. Often she can be seen enjoying a snack of seaweed, or spending the little money she and her colleagues have on simple but good food. There are few scenes in Gintama where Kagura gets to eat in excess, but when she does, she would surprise anyone with her sizable appetite.

2 Sasha Braus (Attack on Titan)

It seems that Titans aren't the only gluttons in the world of Attack on Titan, with the soldier Sasha Braus often seen eating. In a world with large monsters hunting and feasting on humans, Sasha retained her impressive appetite. Her character was even introduced chowing down on a potato while standing in line with the other recruits.

Even during training, Sasha somehow manages to have food at hand, and even more audaciously helps herself to provisions under lock and key to manage her insatiable appetite. Nothing could ever come between Sasha and her beloved food, not even the Titans.

1 Toriko (Toriko)

Toriko is undoubtedly one of the most gluttonous characters of all time, but as it is a key part of his job, it is to be expected. He is what is known as a Gourmet Hunter, and scours through even the most dangerous lands looking for rare delicacies to complete his Full-Course Meal. Even the most treacherous environments don't stop Toriko, as he will stop at nothing to sate his hunger.

When he has fought and struggled his way to whatever delicacy makes it home in the land, he then unashamedly gorges himself, before picking himself up and moving on to the next rare and delicious food. His hunt and his appetite are seemingly never-ending.
