This November will mark the 15-year anniversary of the release of Call of Duty: World at War and while there are not many people still playing World at War these days, it appears at least one dedicated player has never stopped. The son of this 65-year-old diehard fan recently took to Reddit to show off the incredible in-game statistics that his father has manage to rack up over that time, and they are quite impressive.

Call of Duty: World at War is the fifth main series entry in the Call of Duty franchise, released back in 2008. As the name implies, World at War returned the series to its original setting of World War II, after having shaken things up in the previous game, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Despite facing the tough challenge of following up on one of the most beloved entries in the franchise, World at War was positively received by fans and critics alike, and has maintained a dedicated player base for years after its release.

A recent Reddit post from user Jagrbomb on the Gaming subreddit has brought attention to the accomplishments of one of the most devoted of these fans. The post's title reveals that the user's 65-year-old father has been playing just one game, World at War, regularly for the past 15 years, accompanied by an image of the man's in-game statistics. These include some impressive numbers, such as a total kill count of nearly half a million (compared to around 300,000 deaths), and just shy of 20,000 headshots. Amidst ongoing calls for a World at War remaster, this player's incredible dedication to the game serves as ample evidence of its enduring popularity.

Examples of such passion for World at War are somewhat less common than for other Call of Duty games. Other titles in the series like Black Ops and the original Modern Warfare have received far more attention in the years since their release, but the legacy of World at War endures in the maps, game modes, and features it has passed down to later games in the series. Most notably, World at War is the first Call of Duty game to include the iconic Call of Duty Zombies mode.

While this man's persistent love of World at War is particularly remarkable, he is far from the only player who remains fond of the 2008 classic. Many fans want even more such elements, like the campaign co-op feature in World at War, to make their way into modern installments, suggesting a strong enthusiasm for the game among fans even 15 years after release.

Call of Duty: World at War is available now for PC, PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360.
